This is the first time Bucky's had to hold down a proper job with a regular schedule, and while he wouldn't say he's lacking in work ethic, he doesn't necessarily understand work culture either. Besides, he's not saving the world or anything. He's shoveled horseshit all his life. He's just, quite literally shoveling horseshit here. And he finds it therapeutic. And he likes being alone. It's not dealing with an alien invasion or a robot takeover. The world won't end if he comes back to it tomorrow or the day after.
