Ah. So the stranger has definitely seen him. At least she doesn't seem too bothered by a random guy just showing up in her backyard and acting suspicious as fuck. There's a dog here, too, trying to squeeze its way outside. Numbers scowls, mentally kicking himself. Has he lost his touch? No--it's just this weird scenario that's having him make more mistakes than usual. And he's impatient to talk to Wrench.

It's fine. He can recover from this. Numbers smooths down his hair and clears his throat, then steps out from behind the tree, hands raised in a falsely sheepish gesture.

"Hey, there," he says, trying to sound pleasant, as if they were having this conversation on the porch instead of across a snowy backyard. He pointedly avoids introducing himself. "Neither a stalker, nor an ex. I'm looking for a Deaf guy, 'bout yay high--" He demonstrates with his hand, raising it at least a half foot above his head. "--has curly hair and mutton chops. He wouldn't happen to live here, would he?"

His brain scrambles for a plan. If she says no, then he'll just walk away and come back at night. Less chance of being spotted. But now that he's made himself known, she'd probably be on alert for him returning. If she says yes...God, he has so much he needs to ask Wrench, and now this stranger is one more topic he wants to address.
